This week, the Needlefelt Challenge was to use a different backing.
I tried to work with angelwire paper. The first sample uses a rather thin and soft green angelwire paper, with wool rovings and cotton yarn snippets. It is very easy to work with, as long as you don't stay too long in the same spot. (If you do, the paper tends to tear.) In the second sample, I used a somewhat stiffer orange angelwire, with fabric scraps and a very thin layer of wool rovings on top.
I found that the thinner paper is much nicer to work with, and also much stronger than I thought it would be.

I haven't heard of angelwire paper...is it perhaps called something else in the US? These are lovely, I like the colors you've used.
Love the texture and color of that piece. I also have never heard of angelwire - would love to know more!
I think it's similar to sizoflor. I bought some in a papercrafts shop, and some in a fabric shop.
These pieces for your needlefelt challenge are great!
Great stuff!
