Especially for you Ali, here are some pictures of bamboo forest. The first three photos were taken in Arashiyama during our 2010 trip. The next one was taken a few days ago in East Kyoto, in the hills near Kodai-ji temple. (Arashiyama lies West of Kyoto.) In other news, I finally made a start on my Twelve by Twelve "Map" quilt. This was the state of my design wall around noon today... The studio floor... And a little peek at what I did today... More about the trip to Japan very soon...
Thank you so much. I thought the bamboo forest would look fabulous and it does. We have giant bamboo in a small forest,on our property, but it sprouts some metres away from the closest plant . I wonder how they stop it sprouting under their houses in Japan? It belongs to the grass family so that is rather tall grass!
I like to play with fabrics, threads, dyes, paints and other funny things. I love books, animals, flowers and chocolate.
I have a dear husband, three sons and four beautiful grandchildren.
