Tokyo, day 3
On day 3, we decided to walk to Asakusa, the old Tokyo neighbourhood.
If you don't like crowds, don't go to Asakusa on a Sunday...
There are lots of souvenirs shops and small restaurants, and you can even have a little ricksaw ride if you like.
In the morning, the weather was really cold, grey and windy. After visiting the temple and shrines, we had a delicious and warm soup for lunch, then we headed back West towards Nippori textile town. Unfortunately, as it was Sunday, many fabric shops were closed... I nevertheless managed to find a few goodies..
Then, back to Ueno park. The weather turned much nicer in the afternoon and we even enjoyed some early tree blossoms...

We already have that temple on our list - and it won't be a Sunday!-but didn't know about Nippori - will have to tlook that up! Any specific directions for me?
What a wonderful time you had!
Lovely textile pieces, Françoise, very different, and what a treat to see this lovely blossom after all the horrible weather we've had.
