This is my new 12x12 quilt... The theme, picked by Brenda, was "Illumination". I chose to work on the buddhist meaning of this word. The background fabric was shibori-dyed. I then drew a very simple shape of someone sitting and meditating, and made a stencil out of freezer paper. I used oil sticks to print this shape on my fabric. I added hand embroidered stars to evoke light. Don't forget to check the Twelve by Twelve blog to see the quilts made by the other members of the group.
I like to play with fabrics, threads, dyes, paints and other funny things. I love books, animals, flowers and chocolate.
I have a dear husband, three sons and four beautiful grandchildren.

Very nicely done. I love your meditating motifs.
A very serene quilt. Love the colors and the border brings everything back to the central theme...harmony. Great job!
You did such a wonderful job translating the illumination theme into this blue serene quilt.
Beautiful quilt Francoise.
