This looks very much like an aerial photo of the Belgian countryside after a dry summer... There are many woods around here. These are remains of the huge forest which covered most of Belgium in the Middle Ages. (The Forêt de Soignes near Brussels was also part of it.) We like to stroll with our dog through the neighbouring woods. Unfortunately, he has to be kept on the leash because there are some deer and also wild boars living in our woods. He would so much enjoy running after them...But I am digressing from my subject... Actually this is only a picture of a leaf on a pumpkin plant in my garden!

Love that you compared your leaf to a birds eye view of the countryside. Makes you see how all things are relative.
