Twelve quilters

Here's my 12x12 quilt on the theme "Twelve"...
The dark blue sign is my somewhat free interpretation of the Chinese characters meaning "twelve". All fabrics are hand dyed.
The twelve little red shapes represent the members of our 12x12 art quilt group, scattered around the world, eight in the USA, two in Australia, one in England, and one in Belgium.
There are also 12 cross stitches, they're almost connected.

And I added twelve tiny beads all together in the upper right corner. Quilters tend to love these little embellishments. I first thought of adding a small embellishment to each red rectangle, but after all, I liked them plain and simple as they were.
I almost made a quilt about the time (12 hours in a clock, or 12 months in a year), but I changed my mind.
Don't forget to have a look at the other quilts on our 12x12 blog.
Now, I should photograph my 12 quilts together and post the picture here!

Ahhh! I am always comforted by your zen approach to art. You can distill an idea to the simplest of shapes and stitches and the result is beautiful. I think your mosaic will be the most cohesive and mine will be the most chaotic! LOL

Françoise, I love your ‘twelf’ quilt. Your approach speaks to me! Wonderful colours too!

Will this be the last 12 x 12 quilt, or is the group going on, cause I love to see the progress of the themes.

That's a great idea to photograph all 12 quilts. I will plan to do that when I have them all out for labeling and adding the hanging sleeve.
