Back from Japan...

No, not me... This quilt...
It left for Japan almost two years ago. It was exhibited in Yokohama in November 2007. After about a year in Japan, it went to France, and now it's back here. This week, it is hanging in Quevaucamps (Beloeil) with all the other quilts of the challenge "Le monde des écrivains". 90 quilts, inspired by the work of 30 writers.
I have two other quits in the show. This one is called "Forbidden City 1". The theme was "Imprint".
I made a thermal screen using a photo I took last year in Beijing. It is the texture of a old painted door. The quilt is square, but it's hanging in a corner on a not so flat surface, that's why the bottom looks a bit funny...
I think the first quilt on the left is by Rolande Sturbaut, the next one is by Jacqueline Weemaels, then it's mine, and I'm afraid I forgot who made the last one.
My third quilt in the show was made for the new challenge "Afghanistan Inspiration" initiated by Pascale Goldenberg. I won't show it now because the names of the makers are hidden as the public has to make its choice.
Pascale has written a book about the D.A.I. embroidery project in Laghmani, Afghanistan.

Congratulations Françoise! Two wonderful quilts!

It must be a thrill to have your quilts exhibited, especially in Japan!
