Kyoto, day 4

Already our last day in Kyoto...
We took two trains to reach the hills situated North-East of Kyoto.

We stopped in Kibune, walked along the river for 20 or 30 minutes, visited the small village and the shrine, then decided to take the hike through the forest up to Mount Kurama. It was very very steep...
Fortunately, there are a few little shrines on the way, where you can sit down for a while and recover...
And the view from the mountain above Kurama village is really worth the effort...
The temple complex is gorgeous.
In Kurama, we took the train back to downtown Kyoto...
One last stroll along the Kamo river and in beautiful Gion... and one last green tea...

What a wonderful way to end your trip, the views look well worth the climb. I've really enjoyed your holiday posts, something very different, thank you for sharing them.
