On day 3, we decided to walk to Asakusa, the old Tokyo neighbourhood. If you don't like crowds, don't go to Asakusa on a Sunday...There are lots of souvenirs shops and small restaurants, and you can even have a little ricksaw ride if you like.
In the morning, the weather was really cold, grey and windy. After visiting the temple and shrines, we had a delicious and warm soup for lunch, then we headed back West towards Nippori textile town. Unfortunately, as it was Sunday, many fabric shops were closed... I nevertheless managed to find a few goodies..Then, back to Ueno park. The weather turned much nicer in the afternoon and we even enjoyed some early tree blossoms...

We already have that temple on our list - and it won't be a Sunday!-but didn't know about Nippori - will have to tlook that up! Any specific directions for me?
What a wonderful time you had!
Lovely textile pieces, Françoise, very different, and what a treat to see this lovely blossom after all the horrible weather we've had.
