Kyoto, day 2

After a good night, and an excellent breakfast at the ryokan...... we spent the first part of the day at To-ji temple... ... where a big flea market was taking place...Lots of strange looking food...Old kimonos and tempting fabrics...(I was very brave and didn't buy anything...)
We saw a religious ceremony and we were able to visit some of the buildings that are not always open to the public, then we had a nice walk through the garden. It was much less crowded than the market.

I am going to hide this post from Dennis - its the food that is making him dubious about Japan! I have promised he can stay in hotes with 'Western' restaurants.
Bo-ring!

Wow!! What a great market and you were so restrained not to buy anything,
Breakfast looks very substantial.

Kyoto is one of my favorite places to visit! All the photos you took in Japan are beautiful!
