Illumination

Our new theme at Twelve by Twelve is "Illumination". It was chosen by Brenda.
To me, it says buddhism, meditation, awareness...
So, yesterday, I worked on the computer with one of my new pictures. Here is one of the results...

And another one...
I also carved a few printing blocks. I have to do this for the Creative Computing Course I'm taking at DesignMatters.
One of the shapes I did is a very simple sitting buddha... I did lots of prints with this block. One of my prints is posted on the Twelve by Twelve blog.
And here's another one...

Next, I combined it with my digital images.
This is one of the pictures I've saved... I rather like it...

I like this interpretation and I look forward to seeing the differences between yours and karen's final quilts.

The first photo is nearly the wonderful sandy, buttery yellow, and light blue/turquoise (though yours may be a bit greener) that I have been seeing everywhere. It was on Lazy Gal tonya's blog, and in gerrie's Jerusalem pictures. i've seen it in an interior somewhere too and I'm convinced that it is speaking to me -- telling me to create something with it. I wonder if it is speaking to you too?!

Hi Francoise
It's nice to see how you've used the imagery from your trip. I really like the last combination of the digital image and the stamp, the colour's very meditative too.
I like what you're doing on your twelve x twelve blog too.
Thanks for your comment on my blog post, I can't imagine jelly fish would be all that tasty, too chewy!

I'm embarrassed to say that I had no idea that illumination could refer to these things. Was I sick that day in school? I am learning so much from you fellow Twelvers.

You make it so interesting. I checked out the classes and would love to take one, but the dollar exchange is so out of balance with other countries that it is impossible for me at this time. Hopefully things will improve in that area soon.

thank you for sharing your creative and thought processes, I find it very interesting to follow peoples ideas from conception to final piece, and I love the images you are using.

I love the combination of the digital image and the hand-carved stamp. What a great metaphor for modern life, right? Trying to keep up with all that technology has to offer us while maintaining and nuturing work done by hand.

Glad to have found your blog!
