More about Birmingham

Here's my little quilt, hanging discreetly among the other A4 quilts exhibited by the EQA.
The Festival of Quilts is an amazing show where you can not only see a multitude of quilts (and of course spend an awful lot of money at the vendors booths), but you can also meet many textile artists in person. I particularly enjoyed talking to Gloria Loughman, Bob Adams, Erika Carter, Maggie Ball, Jenny Bowker and so many others. I loved Quilting in Action where artists are doing demos. Here, the palm has to go to Maggie Grey whose enthusiasm is absolutely contagious. I couldn't wait going home and playing in my studio! I also had the privilege of meeting Marie Roper who is the tutor for the Creative Computing online course at DesignMatters.

Hi!
Thank you so much for sharing your trip to the show in Birmingham. I enjoyed every image and every word. I really wish I could attend all these fabulous events and meet so many wonderful people. I will get me chance later in London for the Stitching and Knitting show. Are you going to this one too?

I thought the EQA was on of the best exhibits...along with Bob's of course. Thank you so much for including a link to his websight. We are back in the USA and Bob is getting organized and working on new works. He loves teaching workshops but it does take him out of the studio. But teaching is good for the soul.
