Some dyeing

This morning, I made time to play with soy wax and dyes... This was my first try with soy wax. It could be better, but it's not a complete disaster. I hope I can do it again soon, before the weather turns too cold.
The next one came out darker than expected...
And, of course, I couldn't resist throwing a few other small pieces of fabric in the dye pots.

the results are wonderful, but what do you mean with soy wax? I suppose it's something new you have to buy or is there a recipe on how to make it?

Your fabric turned out great! I have not tried soy wax, but I want too. It will have to wait until summer.

Hi Francoise,

I took a soy wax class with Rayna Gilman. It was so much fun. I felt like a kid again. We used household objects like mash potato grinders, spatulas..etc. There were also a couple of people in the class who invested in Batik Tjaps and they had these wonderful designs. If you get a chance, DharmaTrading.com has info on this. The one thing I didn't like about the soy wax was getting it off. We used newspapers to iron it out...but this seemed a bit dirty. I am sure there are better ways. Anyways, glad you had fun with it!
